About the Author
Designer and web developer, Angela Render, is the founder and owner of Thunderpaw Web Development. Formerly the Web Editorial Assistant for Smithsonian Magazine, she gave up her position to become a full-time mom. After years of working with and advising marketing companies, Angela broadened her area of expertise to include Internet marketing and started her own web development business, Thunderpaw.
She teaches classes at The Writer’s Center in Bethesda, and in Howard County through the Howard County Center for the Arts and CityLit. She also teaches programming and graphics editing to underprivileged girls through Passion For Learning’s GRRL Tech, and has been featured as a speaker at Maryland Writers’ Association meetings and at their annual conference, Balticon, and the Bay to Ocean Writers’ Conference.
In her spare time, she is driven to write and published her first novel, Forged By Lightning: A Novel of Hannibal and Scipio, in the spring of 2006. Her short story, “The Dryad” is featured in the Maryland Writers’ Association’s 2008 Anthology, New Lines from the Old Line State, she has a regular column in Writers’ Journal called “Computer Business,” and her workbook, Marketing for Writers: A Practical Workbook was released in January of 2009. Her current projects include a YA novel about renegade elephants, a YA fantasy adventure, and more adult oriented science fiction and fantasy.
She has raced sports cars and has been a student of the martial arts for sixteen years. She also enjoys being girls with her daughter, traveling, cooking, sewing, and gardening. She does not do windows.
